We are channelling our inner Cheryl Baker at the end of this month with a world record attempt!
Taking our hot coals up to Birmingham, on 30th May, we will be at East Side Park, B4 7AP giving away 1000 vegan BBQ treats between 11-3pm.
With the theme tune 'Do you wanna be a record breaker?' firmly ringing in our ears, Fabulous BBQ will be right there in the middle of the action!

The World’s Biggest Vegan BBQ is Coming to Birmingham – and it’s all FREE!
Barbecue season is almost upon us, and this year one vegan food company is inviting
people to take part in a world record attempt for the biggest vegan barbecue.
From 11am-3pm on Wednesday 30 May, hungry customers can head to East Side Park
in Birmingham to enjoy a complimentary vegan burger or hotdog from The Fry Family
Food Co. in celebration of National BBQ Week.
The plant based event is the first of its kind in the UK and to mark the occasion, Fry’s is
giving away 1,000 vegan treats in the hope of setting a new world record for the biggest
gathering of vegans and vegetarians enjoying a ‘BVQ’.
Tammy Fry, International Marketing Director at Fry’s said: “For many, it wouldn’t be a
British summer without a get together with friends, enjoying a barbecue while soaking up
the sunshine. For people who follow a plant based lifestyle, however, it’s not always so
“There are so many fantastic meat alternatives, a summer barbecue really can
accommodate all. This year we want to kick off barbecue season in style with the world’s
biggest vegan BVQ – and everyone is welcome!
“We’re looking forward to showing vegans and meat-eaters alike just how delicious a
plant based barbecue can be.”
To take part in the vegan BVQ world record attempt, visit East Side Park between 11am
and 3pm on Wednesday 30 May.

It all began in the Fry family kitchen in 1991, where Wally and Debbie Fry, began making
burgers and sausages without meat. Debbie was born vegetarian, and Wally (an avid
meat eater) changed after meeting Debbie (she got her way!). The Fry’s range of vegan
products (we don’t do meat, egg or dairy) are now available all over the world and make
eating a plant-based diet that is good for you and the planet, that much easier. The Fry
Family are still very much involved in the running of the day to day business and are often
instrumental in coming up with new product ideas that suit busy family lives. We truly are
